I’m interested in the rich mathematical connections between deep and manifold learning, dynamical systems, optimal control, and theory of computation.


I'm particularly jazzed when thinking about mathematical descriptions of mental concepts, semantic operations on and between those concepts, and the physical means by which they emerge in living, wet neural systems. 

While primarily interested in progress in mathematics and theoretical neuroscience, I’d also like to translate these learnings into application domains such as brain-computer interfaces, artificial intelligence, and neurological disease.
